The Hyundai Ioniq 5N Is An Electric SUV Which Caters To Enthusiasts In An Interesting Way!

Electric Vehicles used to be frowned upon by traditional car enthusiasts, but Tesla’s Model S changed that perception in 2012. While performance was a concern, electric hypercars like the Rimac Nevera set new standards. However, some feel that the passion for driving has been lost in the pursuit of speed. Enter the Hyundai Ioniq 5N, aiming to fix these issues while excelling as an efficient crossover.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5N has a sleek and respectable design with futuristic lights and N performance touches. The front bumper may seem a bit overstyled at first, but it makes sense when you consider it’s a performance car. The blue and red launch shade looks great on this crossover.

The Ioniq 5N has some cool details. The extended rear wheel arches have air passages to cool the tires, adding a sporty touch. Instead of traditional racing stripes, there’s a 3-inch sticker below the front Hyundai logo and on the back, a subtle nod to the N brand. The 20-inch alloy wheels look really striking and fit the overall style. At the rear, there are unique dot-shaped reflectors, which adds a funky touch to a simple feature.

This EV stands out with its sporty bucket-styled seats made of a mix of Alcantara and leather, giving it a serious, high-performance look. However, the high price suggests it’s more for show than for actual high performance. The interior is driver-focused, with unique controls like Two N buttons, and it features integrated technology including Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Overall, the interior is not a huge departure from the standard Ioniq 5.

Under the hood, unlike traditional EVs, you will not find a boot instead there is a pretend Engine cover with N branding covering most of the electrical components. But speaking of the battery, it is 85Kwh producing 640hp. This allows the 2200kg SUV to do a 0-100 in just 2.9 seconds! The stats are impressive for an SUV, however, more was expected than the 200-mile range.

The seats have a sporty bucket style with a mix of Alcantara, leather, and holes for a racing harness, but they are mostly for show. The car is priced at Rs. 65 Lakhs internationally. The interior is designed for the driver with unique driver-oriented controls including two different N buttons, one of which is white and has an interesting function. In terms of technology, it is equipped with Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Overall, the interior isn’t too different from the standard Ioniq 5.

You can use N Drift Mode for doing donuts and causing chaos, and you can also use launch control and adjust Brake Regen. N Torque Distribution lets you configure torque delivery to the front or rear wheels, and there are screens for G Force and Lap Timer. You can also customize suspension settings beyond the driving modes (Normal, Eco, Sport) to match your driving style.

The Ioniq 5N offers an impressive driving experience with its quick feel and great drivetrain emulation. Hyundai has done a great job of making it feel like a gas-powered car, setting new benchmarks for enthusiasts. While we wish for a different sound to complement its power, the Ioniq 5N makes us feel optimistic about the future of electric cars and reduces concerns about an EV takeover.
