The successor to the Gallardo and the Huracan is here. And it’s called the Temerario. If there ever was a contest for naming cars, Lambo would take home the trophy. The Temerario ushers Lamborghini in a new era because this is a hybrid. Lambo likes to call it High Performance Electrified Vehicle. Lamborghini means drama but what happens when this company decides to take a sensible approach?
What’s the engine?
Okay, coming straight to the point. No screaming V10 here. But, it gets a complicated 10000rpm bi-turbo 4.0 V8 paired to 3 electric motors. Lets reserve our judgement as Lambo claims they have put in many hours to achieve a “new engine symphony”. The total power output is a monstrous 907bhp and it will rocket you to 100 in just 2.7 seconds.

It’s comfy now, is it?
The official website says that the Temerario is supposed to be comfortable and meet your everyday needs. Not terms you expect from a company which specializes in fire-breathing demons. They have increased the legroom, headroom and wheelbase. It would be easier to daily this one. And on the weekends, redline it to 10k on the track. Interesting to see how the Lamborghini aficionados react to this when all they want is a fire-breathing monster.

What’s new?
Essentially, the whole car. It is built on a new chassis and gets a new 8-speed DCT gearbox which is lighter and faster. The hybrid V8 has fallen victim to downsizing yet it delivers more performance. The addition of a ‘Drift Mode’ has made it spicy and seeing the rear light up its tyres with all that torque will be a beautiful sight!

The design?
The styling cues have been taken from past models while the sleek lights look quite modern. It has matured with cleaner body-lines. The exposed wheels and the massive exhaust looks epic! It looks very much like how a Lamborghini should. Low-slung supercar!

The Temerario is set to be launched on 30th April in India. Judging by the history books of past models, it won’t be a surprise to see a long waiting time in the market. I would just love to hear the rev-limiter on 10000rpm!
