BMW F900R

The latest generation of BMW F series has landed on Indian Shores to be launched on 21st May. The F900 twins were seen at the EICMA 2019 motor show in Milan and will replace the decade older F800 series. The middleweight twins have the same 895cc distinctive F- series parallel twin outlet pushing out 105 bhp and 91nm of torque paired to a slick and precise 6-speed gearbox. The crankshaft is at a 90-degree offset, and cylinders firing at 270 degree and 450 degree. In layman’s term they sound like a throaty V-twin.

BMW F900XR

BMW design on the Cars side has not been interesting at all. The bikes on the other hand look fantastic. We have seen that with the R18 which is Drop-dead gorgeous. The Twins display Defined lines and sharp cuts trickling down from their higher capacity siblings. All LED headlamp gives them a very bold and bright image which makes it functional for you little night rides.

BMW has really focused with the usability and contemporary experience of the bikes. The twins have all the gizmos and features including adjustable levers for brake and clutch, self-cancelling turn indicators, a 12V charging socket, a steering damper and an adjustable windshield. A large 6.5-inch TFT Display with Mobile connectivity has been mounted straight off the S1000RR. This makes the bikes so much more functional. Both bikes are loaded with riding aids and technology. The Rider will be provided with Riding modes (Rain and Road), and stability control as Standard. The top trim comes with optional two other modes (Dynamic and Dynamic Pro) Cornering abs, Dynamic ESA semi-active adjustable-on-the-go suspension setup, Dynamic traction control, quick shifter and Keyless ignition.

The fit and finish looks top notch as you would expect, and BMW claims the plastic-welded fuel tanks are a first in any production bike. The bike is very well thought out and has so many features that it can hardly be resisted. The F900R is delivered at 9.9 Lakh ex-showroom price and will rival the likes of the Kawasaki Z900 and Triumph Street Triple and the F900XR will be delivered at 12 Lakh ex-showroom and rival against the Ducati Multistrada 950 and Triumph Tiger. A great proposition has been placed in the Market by BMW. Tell us your thoughts on the Bikes and would you consider buying them?
